Tucked into the high country of the Big Hole Valley, The Road To Wisdom is a private retreat where the mountains meet the meadow and Montana's biggest sky stretches endlessly above. Two hand-crafted log cabins sit at the edge of some of the most untouched wilderness in the American West.

Step outside the door and you're standing at the boundary of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest — elk habitat, trout streams, mountain trails, and pristine backcountry. Everything is here. Everything is wild.

The cabins border a ~500,000-acre stretch of Beaverhead-Deerlodge. The forest as a whole is 3.3 million acres — the largest national forest in Montana and one of the largest in the lower 48. Vast elk ranges, world-class fly fishing on the Big Hole River, hundreds of miles of backcountry trails, and snowmobile routes that go as far as you're willing to ride.

Both cabins are available to book independently or together for large groups. Pricing is per person, per night. Every stay has a 2-night minimum, a 6-guest minimum per cabin (12 when booking both), and a per-cabin booking minimum: $960 for The Homestead, $800 for The Bunkhouse, $1,800 for both. Peak season runs July through October for hunting season. Winter snowmobile season runs December through March.
